Ann Leming Ann Leming obtained a B.A. in Psychology/Sociology from Westmont College and a M. A. in Special Education from the University of Utah. She has been teaching at St. Olaf since 1983. She teaches The Exceptional Child course and supervises student teachers each fall term, and teaches in Thailand during Spring term. Since 2001 she has co-directed the Spring Semester in Thailand program (www.AmazingSEAsia.com) which is affiliated with Chiang Mai University. In this capacity she directs the service-learning internship program for the program.
Ann feels fortunate to have had varied and interesting public school experiences, including teaching at the elementary and secondary levels in special education, teaching secondary social studies and alternative education, and founding and directing for five years the Faribault Alternative High School. Her areas of interest include alternative and inclusive education, rural tribal education, and disability and the arts.
She and her husband, Mike, live in Northfield, MN and Chiang Mai, Thailand and have three children and three grandchildren.
