The relationship between regular church attendance and level of own environmental concern ought to be studied further in the future, as within this investigative study that relationship had a p-value<.05, meaning that there is a significant difference in level of concern about urbanization between churchgoers and non churchgoers in Northfield.  Also, it would be interesting to look into connections between the environment and personal spirituality.

There is a need for an stronger ethic for the environment in communities such as Northfield, where urbanization and expansion have really taken a stronghold.  Not only are there environmental, but there are community-oriented and spiritual reasons for the importance of building up this ethic.

As a small, predominantly Christian community, Northfield can use the bible as a resource for building up this kind of an ethic, which will in turn cause the earth less damage, and help people to focus less on the economic riches of this society, and more on the natural riches that surround us.  We have been called by God to be good stewards of the land He has given us, and also, we have been called to be "on guard against greed" and excessive "abundance of possessions" (Luke 12:15).  Greed never made a community richer in spirit and connectedness.
