The use of GIS (Geographical Information Systems) is becoming an essential tool in the field of natural resource management. GIS is especially useful for watershed management because it allows for easy assessment of certain watershed health indicators such as impervious surface cover, land-use, or marking stream banks that may be susceptible to erosion. I created the following maps using Arcview 8.3 and data from the Minnesota DNR GIS Data Deli.
