What can you do for your watershed? |
| There are currently 30 facilities permitted by
the EPA to discharge point-source pollutants into the surface
waters of rice county. As required by the CWA, information about
these permits and facilities must b made available to the public.
Much of this information can be retrieved through the Envirofacts
Database, provided by the EPA.

Cannon River Watershed Project
Founded by concerned citizens in 1990, the CRWP
"works with many agencies, organizations and individuals
to protect and improve the water and natural resources of the
watershed." Citizens are encouraged to join the CRWP in ongoing
efforts to protect and improve the Cannon River Watershed.

Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
a geographically based approach to solving Minnesota's
surface water quality problems through feasable solutions. The
main website also provides other MPCA information regarding other
types of pollutions and regulations.

Volunteer Water Monitoring Program
A program run through the EPA that allows citizens
to become active in protecting their watershed by participating

Another way to express concerns for your watershed
is to organize a watershed festival for your community. Watershed

information about local watersheds.
