This project examines a specific piece of land in Northfield which was originally farmed and later turned into a residential area.  I researched the ownership history of this land using plat books and an abstract of tittle that I obtained from the owner.  Then in order to gain a better understanding of what factors contributed to the piece of land I researched and the farms surrounding it being turned into a residential part of Northfield, I researched the pressures farmers feel as urban sprawl moves in.  This helped me to further understand the land and why it changed ever time.  By finding out more about the history of the piece of land and what happened when I hope to gain a greater sense of place.  Due to the fact that I am currently renting the house on the property I researched I will not only have a greater sense of place for the region but also I will gain a greater personal connection to my home these past few months.
