I began my research by reading up on as much as I could on GMOs and labeling regulations. I read books and articles, and searched websites. I was amazed at the mass amounts of information available; the more I read, the more I saw how little I in fact it was that I knew.

However, I did not want to just read about GMOs; I was curious as to how I could relate current GMO regulation debates to Northfield. I was particularly interested in investigating the three major legs of the journey of food: production, distribution, and consumption. To do this, I decided that I wanted to conduct interviews with Northfield residents, including farmers, grocers, and students.
