North Shore Area
Anyone who has traveled to the North Shore of MN has been struck by its beautiful natural landscape. Crosby Manitou State Park and the Manitou Landscape area managed by the Collaborative are located in the heart of the North Shore area. (see above star by Crosby-Manitou)
The working forest landscape provides lumber, and jobs for many people. It is an important resource for the local economy.
The area is home of some of MN most valuable Old-growth forests, which provide critical habitats for many species.
