Studet and professor in greenhouse

Welcome to our Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FNSM) website.  We have much to be grateful for – bright, eager, and thoughtful students, talented, dedicated, and caring faculty/staff, and an impressive legacy of success.  Through the generosity of the College and several faculty grants, we maintain a modern and innovative curriculum that is augmented by great technological support and an impressive collection of sophisticated scientific equipment.

Anticipation is great as we watch construction on new facilities that will house the entire FNSM.  The Science Complex will consist of a new building to house the natural sciences (due to open Fall 2008) connected to a renovated Old Music Hall that will house the mathematical sciences (due to open Fall 2009).  How can we not feel good about where we are and where we are going?

Organizationally, the FNSM consists of five departments - biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and MSCS (mathematics, statistics, and computer science) – and we are closely affiliated with the Environmental Studies Department that is housed in our Faculty of Interdisciplinary and General Studies.  Majors are offered in biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental studies, mathematics, physics, and psychology.  Students can pursue a concentration in biomedical studies, biomolecular science, neuroscience, or statistics.

You’re invited to browse this website to learn more about the FNSM.  Enjoy!
