MAC Accents

Step 1: Press and hold the <option> key. While the <option> key is down, type either the "e," the "i," the "u," or the " ` ".

Step 2:
Lift up on those keys and then press the letter you would like to accent. Here is the list of keys which will give you the accents:

<option> + "e" = accent aigu. (e.g. é).
<option> + " ` " = accent grave (e.g. è).
<option> + "i" = accent ciconflexe (e.g. ê).
<option> + "u" = accent tréma (e.g. ä, ë, ï, ü).
<option> + " ' " (apostrophe) = ligature æ
<option> + "c" = "c" cedilla (e.g. ç).

PC Accents
Step 1: Press and hold the <alt> key. While the <alt> key is down, type in the number code listed below.

é = 130 è = 138
ê = 136 ë = 137
Ç = 128 ç = 135
æ = 145 ô = 147
à = 133 â = 131
ä = 132 î = 140
ù = 151 ü = 129
û = 150 (use side numberpad, not top)
