Foundation Courses are offered at Level I in European and Global history.
These courses are open to all students seeking broad historical introductions to
Western and Non-Western societies. Foundation Courses provide both extensive
historical coverage and opportunities for integrative learning.
American Foundation
Courses offered are 198 and 199. The Foundation Courses are particularly
appropriate for prospective majors seeking background in each world area.

NB: Students with AP credit in American or European history are welcome in
Level I seminars and may also wish to consider more specialized Level II
courses in American or European history.
