David Perry is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota, currently writing a Ph.D. thesis on "Venice, Stolen Relics, and the Aftermath of the Fourth Crusade." He will defend his dissertation in August 2006. He has taught several classes at the University of Minnesota, including the History of the Crusades and the History of the Catholic Church, and been a teaching assistant for many others. At St. Olaf, he has taught courses in global history, on the crusades, medieval women, the high and late Middle Ages, and other subjects. His other interests include acoustic guitar and bass, ultimate frisbee, Venetian cuisine, and the Red Sox.
