Giving Respectful Advice

By using the form お+verb stem+ください, you are giving a courteously phrased command, rather than a request.

Ex: せつめいをお読みください。(Please read the instructions.)

With most する compounds, the prefix ご is used instead of お. Also there are some honorific verbs that have some exceptions.

Ex: ごらんください。 （ごらんになる -> 見る） (Please look.)

Ex: おめしあがりください。 （めしあげる -> 食べる） (Please help yourself.)
