To the Referee:

The student named above has applied for a program of study in mathematics offered by the Technical University-Budapest, located in Budapest, Hungary. We are grateful for any pertinent information concerning both

1.     the student's academic ability in mathematics and

2.     the student's ability to adjust to living in a foreign country.

In order for a student to be eligible to apply, he/she must have completed one semester of either advanced calculus (1st theory course in analysis) or abstract algebra.

The academic program in Budapest is challenging and Hungarian culture is distinct from that found in the United States or Canada. Your candid opinion about the abilities of the aforementioned student to benefit from from the Budapest Semesters Program will help us insure that there is a good match between the qualifications of the student and the mission of the program.

Please include this sheet as a cover for your mailed recommendation; emailed recommendations are welcome, but should be sent from your home internet account.
