	Professor Kathryn Ziegler joins the Statistics Program this fall as a 2-year postdoctoral fellow. Professor Ziegler was earned a PhD in biostatistics this past spring at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Professor Ziegler is already familiar with St. Olaf College because she taught Stat 110 for two summers here.		Professor Kathryn Ziegler joins the Statistics Program this fall as a 2-year postdoctoral fellow. ====<br>MSCS welcomes two new postdoctoral fellows!====

Professor Kathryn Ziegler joins the Statistics Program this fall as a 2-year postdoctoral fellow. Professor Ziegler was earned a PhD in biostatistics this past spring at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Professor Ziegler is already familiar with St. Olaf College because she taught Stat 110 for two summers here.

Professor Ziegler joins another 2-year post-doctoral fellow, Professor Christine Kohnen,'00. Professor Kohnen taught statistics courses and participated in the Center for Interdisciplinary Research this past year. She will be on leave in the fall and rejoin us this spring.

====Students attend National Conference on Undergraduate Research symposium in Asheville, NC====

Four St. Olaf Statistics students attended the symposium in Asheville, North Carolina. Kezia Manlove ’06 presented on her project about modeling the effect of environmental factors on tundra swan populations. Steffanie Halberstadt ’06, Colin Colby ’06, and Kathleen Kephart ’07 presented on their project “The Odd Couple: Statistics and Morality”, a quantitative analysis of moral reasoning. The symposium was attended by students from over 266 undergrad institutions, on research from numerous fields.

Seven St. Olaf student statisticians recently presented two research projects to legislators at the Council on Undergraduate Research "Posters on the Hill" symposium in Washington D.C.
