The Transition Year(s)

In considering options for after college, many liberal arts students consider taking a transitional year before going to graduate or professional schools. In addition to being to serving as a break from school, students use this year to identify their vocations and seek out opportunities that may strengthen their resume and applications to graduate or professional school.

As the number of students applying to neuroscience programs increase, many students are taking this transitional year as an opportunity to define their interest in graduate or professional schools are beginning to see the value of transition year, as students are able to bring the experiences they gain during this time to their academic work.

Whether you are considering an internship at a company like Medtronic or find yourself working in a lab at the University of Minnesota , these experiences will be a strong asset in your future aspirations.
