In-Class Assignment: Ch. 7-9
(Group work in the World Lang. Center on Fri., Oct 12 during your class hour. The group work will take approximately 20-25 minutes)
After you have finished with your oral exam, you will meet in small groups to start working on an oral assessment project that will be due at the end of the next three chapters (Ch. 7-9). These chapters are about food and meals, and during your oral assessment, you will take part in a roleplay situation about eating a meal together with two or three other students. During the meal, you will need to use appropriate vocabulary for the meal setting (discussing food options, ordering from a menu, asking to have food passed to you, describing how you like your meal, etc.). In addition, you will need to include appropriate dinner conversation in which you discuss your studies/work, leisure activities, family, etc.
In order to prepare for this oral assessment, you will have to decide where the meal is being eaten, for example, in a restaurant, a café, a private home, in Northfield, in Norway, etc. You will also have to decide whether you are going to use your own identity or make up a new one. When you finish filling out the planning sheet for your oral assessment, be sure to turn it in to the student worker in the WLC. This sheet will be available for you in the WLC, but it is also pasted below.
