Oral Assessment Information: Ch. 7-9
Description: In class on Friday, Nov. 2, you will perform a role play with two other students for the class. You will prepare by writing an outline to the skit, a rough draft and then a final copy. You will also prepare a listening activity for the class.
Topic: You are eating a meal with two other people (you can keep your real identities or make up new ones). At least two of the people do not know each other.
Guidelines:
- You will be assigned a group in class.
- Each student should have approx. the same number of lines.
- You can have a notecard with 20 individual words written on it, but you should not be reading from it, you can use it as a cue card. Points will be deducted for reading directly from the card. You need to know your lines well enough to speak freely. You will need to turn in your notecard after you present your skit.
- If you need an additional person (to be a waiter, for example) you can ask someone else in class to do this for you (ask in advance and you will need to provide them with a script).
- Each group member should ask and answer a minimum of 10 questions each.
Listening Activity:
In addition to writing your script, you will also need to provide an activity with 10 questions for the class that the class can fill in as you present. These should be a mixture of fill in the blank, true/ false, multiple choice or matching exercises.
