Norsk 112: Informasjon om den muntlige evalueringen (Kap. 22-24)
MEET IN THE COMPUTER LAB IN THE WLC ON MONDAY, APRIL 14.
YOUR INSTRUCTOR WILL BE THERE SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
The scenario: The year is 2015. You are at your St. Olaf class reunion telling old friends about your new life. You can imagine your future life in a realistic sense or in a more imaginative way, but you must use vocabulary that comes from the textbook so that other students can understand what you are saying.
This oral assessment consists of 3 parts:
a) a description of your life in 2015
b) listening to the descriptions of 2 other students and asking them questions
c) responding to the questions from others.
Come to class prepared with the following:
a) the green exam preparation sheet on which you have written 30 key words to help you organize your
description. You may not include phrases, sentences, or questions. On the back, there will be room to take
notes on the descriptions of two other students and write your questions for them.
b) a pencil or pen to write notes as needed.
Part I, 20 minutes: Record a description of yourself. This description should have been thoroughly rehearsed and timed before you come to the exam, so that you are spending your exam time getting a good recording and not practicing the description. Once you start your description, you may not pause the recording. However, if you are not satisfied with your first effort, you may re-record the whole description. Your description will include these three topics:
a) a description of your family, including your spouse or partner, children, friends, roommate, pets, etc.
Include a description of one person, including identity, appearance, and personality. (approx. 1 minute)
b) your home and surroundings. Include where you live (town or city), inhabitants, nature, stores/services/buildings, and positive/negative features. Then discuss your home, including the type of home, yard, rooms, activities, and favorite room(s). (approx. 1 minute)
c) your occupation. Include your work hours, activities that you do at your job, the positive and negative features about the job, and your personal finances. (approx. 1 minute)
Part II, 20 minutes:
Listen to the descriptions of the 2 people below you on the Wimba voiceboard. If you are at the bottom of the board, listen to the two people at the top. Record a greeting, your name and 4 questions to each of these two classmates (8 total).
1 question- on family / 1 question- on residence and home / 2 questions- on occupation and personal finance
Part III, 15 minutes: Listen to the 8 questions posed to you. Answer 3 of 4 of each of your classmate’s questions (6 total). Answer in complete sentences. (approx. 30 seconds- 1 minute each)
Assessment:
