Welcome to the homepage for the three Norwegian 231 sections at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
Norwegian 231 is a third semester Norwegian course and focuses on intermediate Norwegian vocabulary, structures, and culture. The topics we will be studying are eating habits, climate, family, personal finances, literature, folklore, and language.
St. Olaf is one of a few colleges and universities where students can use Norwegian to complete their foreign language requirement — and beyond the requirement can study the language, literature, culture, and history of Norway in depth. In addition, St. Olaf students have many opportunities to study and travel in Norway. We recommend the Oslo International Summer School, the Scandinavian Urban Studies Term (SUST), Scandinavian Studies in Telemark, studies at the Universities of Oslo, Stavanger or Tromsø, and Denmark's International Study Program.
