II. Starting and Saving a New Document in Claris Home Page

1. Launch the Claris Home Page application. From the FILE menu, select NEW PAGE.

2. Set the preferences for the page by clicking on the DOCUMENT icon or going to the EDIT menu and selecting PREFERENCES.

3. In the PREFERENCES dialog box, select the colors for the text, links, and background, or choose a background image. Write also in the title for the page.

4. Create your page.

5. From the FILE menu, choose SAVE to save the file to your hard disk. In the dialog box, give the document a name and choose where you would like to save it. Click OK.

6. If you would like to save your document to a remote server, go to the FILE menu and click on REMOTE SAVE. In the dialog box, fill in the server name, user name, password, remote directory, and remote file name.


III. Editing a Document in Claris Home Page

1. Launch the Claris Home Page application. From the FILE menu, select OPEN. Find the file you would like to open.

2. If you would like to open an HTML document from a remote server, go to the FILE menu and select REMOTE OPEN. In the dialog box, fill in the server name, user name, password, remote directory, and remote file name. Click OK and the document will be downloaded and opened.

3. Edit the document.

4. Save either to your hard disk or to a remote server as indicated in steps 5-6 in the previous section.
