I. Digitizing Sound 1. Launch the application Sound Machine. 2. Record using the microphone attached to your computer. 3. Save as an AIFF file. 4. Launch the Real Audio Encoder and then you will see the dialog box below. ![]() 5. Fill out the information in the middle of the box about title, author, copyright, and encoder. The encoder should be set to Real Audio 3.0 - 28.8 Mono, Narrow response. 6. Click on the INPUT button and find the sound file you would like to encode. Open it and wait a few seconds while it is encoded to a real audio file. Note the reduction in size of the file, in this case from 847K to 38K. 7. Put the Real Audio file in a web folder called SOUNDS. Link the Real Audio sound file to a web page just as you would make any other link. 8. Play the Real Audio file with the Real Audio Player ![]()
