A Norwegian major
consists of nine courses in Norwegian language, literature, and history.
Students are strongly encouraged to study for a summer, semester, or a
full year in Norway (see Study in Norway).

A Nordic Studies
Concentration consists of five courses in Norwegian language, literature,
history, and culture. At least two of the courses must be taken in
the Norwegian Department, and at least two courses must come from
outside the department.
