Using the web in language teaching

Interactive quizzes using JavaScript

Interactive quizzes using CGI Scripting

  • Quiz Center, Ed Tech Tools, University of Hawaii
A service that allows teachers to create on-line quizzes (true/false, short answer, and multiple choice) using their web browsers, save them to a server at the University of Hawaii, and have them immediately available to their students. No technical skills necessary. Those who can type and use a web browser can make a quiz in approximately a half hour. And the best part -- it's FREE!
  • On-line Quizzes for Norwegian, St. Olaf College

Web exercises created with TrackStar

  • TrackStar
Another free service that allows teachers to make a web exercise combining several web sites with questions or glossary annotations. No technical skills necessary. Simply type in the web adresses of the sites, add your questions or annotations, and the service creates a web site with three frames, a small one on the left for the menu of web sites, a large one on the right to view one web site at a time, and a small one at the top for the teacher's questions or annotations.
