Anne-Cath. Vestly is a well-known Norwegian author of children's books. She wrote several series of books, one of them about the adventures of a young boy named Ole Aleksander. There are five books about Ole Aleksander: Ole Aleksander Filibom-bom-bom, Ole Aleksander på farten, Ole Aleksander får skjorte, Ole Aleksander og bestemor til værs og Ole Aleksander på flyttefot. In 1998, a movie based on the first two books in the series was released. This semester, we will be using the story Ole Aleksander Filibom-bom-bom as supplementary reading in our Norwegian 112 (Beginning II) and Norwegian 231 (Intermediate I) courses. We have created questions and a word list for each chapter of the book. These exercises are an expanded version of some that Katherine Hanson made when she taught Norwegian at St. Olaf several years ago.
