Philosophy Forum for Students
The Philosophy Forum provides students (philosophy majors and non-majors alike) an opportunity to meet with one another to discuss philosophical topics. This student-run organization meets for an hour once a week (Tuesday evenings at 9:00 p.m. in the Thorson Lounge) with a different member choosing the topic and leading the discussion each week. Discussion leaders will sometimes ask members to prepare for a meeting with a short reading or website study. They may present an item for discussion--for example, a piece of artwork in order to explain or justify its value. On occasion, members will meet at a professor's house for the discussion and dinner, or watch a philosophically relevant movie to discuss.
The 2010-11 Philosophy Forum is up and running with great conversation and lots of enthusiasm. These discussions are open and accessible to all students. For more information contact:
