Professor Gorham's areas of specialization are philosophy and history of science and early modern philosophy (especially Descartes). He also has strong interests in metaphysics, and the relationship between science and religion. He has published articles in numerous journals, including Journal of the History of Philosophy, Perspectives on Science, Early Science and Medicine, Studies in the History and Philosophy of Science, and Journal of the History of Ideas. He is a resident fellow of the Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science at the University of Minnesota.
