The Physics Major at St. Olaf: Students, come for an interactive hour looking back, looking ahead, and gathering input!

Brian Borovsky
Physics Department
St. Olaf College

The Physics Department faculty recently decided to drop one advanced laboratory course from the major (Physics 375) and add one or more elective classes per year at the upper level. Why did we do that? What electives will be offered in the coming years? How did the Physics major at St. Olaf evolve? What kinds of ideas are being discussed for the future? One thing is for certain: the department remains keenly interested in student input. I will lead an informal discussion on the physics major and give the audience ample opportunity to participate, making use of the fancy classroom response system. Is there a question you would like to ask your fellow students? Let me know by Monday afternoon and help shape this unique seminar event!
