Cosmology Today

Dr. Rellen Hardtke
University of Wisconsin--River Falls

In the last 15 years, cosmology has (finally) become a data-driven science, and our understanding of the universe has changed dramatically.  I will present an overview of our current understanding of the Big Bang, dark matter, and dark energy.  This talk is geared to students who are interested in how physicists study the large-scale structure of the universe, but who may not have had an astronomy course.
