"Life begins at 22:
Preparing students for successful careers after college"
Dr. Douglas Arion
Hedberg Distinguished Prof.
of Entrepreneurial Studies
Carthage College
The Carthage ScienceWorks -
Entrepreneurial Studies Program has, for the last twelve years, prepared
students in the sciences for the rigors of their professional careers. Combining core coursework, business
development and business plan projects; this program brings students the
knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for success.
Carthage has developed partnerships with regional
business development organizations, including the Center for Advanced Technology
and Innovation, the National Collegiate Innovators and Inventors Alliance, and
the Kern Entrepreneurial Education Network, to provide the kinds of real-world
experiences that students need.
This presentation will provide an overview of the
program, and suggest ways that these core skills can be brought to students in
many disciplines across the campus.
