Christopher Chapp
|
Professor Chapp teaches a wide range of courses on American government and politics, and is particularly interested in questions of how political communication (like campaigns and the media) shapes the political preferences of citizens. His recently defended dissertation draws on social psychology to examine how political campaigns use religious messages to persuade the mass public. He is currently pursuing several related projects, including work on emotive political communication, priming and framing, and the impact of new media (like political blogs) on public opinion. Professor Chapp received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, where he studied Political Science, English, and Integrated Liberal Studies. He did his graduate work in Political Science at the University of Minnesota, with a concentration on psychological approaches to the study of politics. |
