Curriculum Vitae

Professor Thalhammer has been a member of the St. Olaf faculty since 1991, beginning as a visiting instructor and becoming a full-time professor in 1994. Her teaching and research specialization is in Latin American politics and development. In addition to her on-campus courses she has supervised a variety of internships and independent study projects, with topics ranging from fair trade coffee (Chiapas, Mexico); community development (Cuzco, Peru and Tamil Nadu, India); comparative political development; and political economy of development.

Professor Thalhammer is currently preparing a book manuscript on courageous resistance. She is the coordinator of Peace Studies and the Kloeck-Jenson Endowment for Peace and Justice, and is the faculty advisor for Amnesty International. Professor Thalhammer is married and has two terrific kids.
