Bonnie Sherman has been a member of the faculty at St. Olaf College since 1981.  As Professor of Psychology, she teaches classes and laboratories in Sensation & Perception and in Neuropsychology.  Intrigued with visual imagery and synesthesia, Bonnie’s research finds focus in examining number-forms; the ways people represent numbers spatially. She is developing an annotated bibliography of the literature on number-forms beginning in London in the 1870’s and extending into Europe, North America, Scandinavia, and East Asia up to 1938. Immersed in the development of ways of thinking about vision and perception, Bonnie teaches an upper-level seminar in Visual Thinking. Her laboratory utilizes both the case study method and experimental measures of eye movements in perception.
