Michael Hill
I am a Senior Psychology and Asian Studies major at St. Olaf College. My future plans are to teach JET (Japan Exchange Teaching) for a year after graduation, and then to attend graduate school and earn a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I am considering attending the University of Minnesota, or the University of South Dakota. Eventually, I would like to practice rural psychology in Northern Minnesota.
Mike graduated in 2002 with a B.A. in Psychology and Asian Studies.
Research Interests
Most of my research has dealt with humor, and
touch and affect. Why do we laugh? What function does humor serve?
Is humor a natural part of us, or is it learned. What is the relationship
between humor and anxiety? Why do we touch other people? What
does touch mean? How are touch and affect related? What is the
relationship between touch and intimacy?
