Russian House 2011-2012
We have an exciting year planned at the Russian House packed with fun activities for everyone interested in Russia. House residents, Olga Blinova, Thomas Hodge, Lydia Bundy, David Galick, Joey Cherney (first semester) and April Curtis (second semester) welcome you to come and chat, watch movies, and try some good Russian food. Feeling adventurous? Come down the hill and find us. We're located in Ytterboe House right across from the President's house on St. Olaf Avenue. We hope to see you there often.
Olga Blinova
Olga Blinova is the Russian Fulbright scholar with us for the academic year 2011-2012. She is assisting the Russian Language and Area Studies department and living at Ytterboe House.
Привет! I am Olga from Moscow. When I was 15 I went to Alabama on a high school exchange program, and loved the experience. So I was very happy to get a Fulbright grant and return to America for a year. Before coming to St Olaf I taught English and worked for the Bolivian Embassy in Moscow. I also speak French and Spanish and hope to learn some Norwegian while at St Olaf. I completed 2 years of a graduate program at Moscow State Linguistics University and, fingers crossed, will get my PhD when I'm back home. I'm a member of the Russian branch of Civil Service International volunteer organization and have participated in a number of eco projects all over Europe (by the way, there are lots of summer projects in Russia!) Traveling is my biggest passion, and I also enjoy yoga and reading. So if you want a piece of Russia, help with the Russian language, or just want to have a chat, you're always welcome at the Russian House. Увидимся!
