The work at the Staraya Russa Children's Home of Hope will be quite varied. We have done stucco over brick, wallpaper, paint removal, painting, mural painting, English lessons, grass-cutting (with a scythe) and even rug beating!

It is tempting to view service and work only as something that we can do for those we visit. We will consider various ways to look at what we have to offer to the Russians at the orphanage and also what they have to offer us. We will look at service more as a reciprocal relationship. In the past, those serving on the trip have definitely been served by those at the orphanage and in the town of Staraya Russa.
