ALLA Student Paper Prize
The Association for Latina and Latino Anthropologists sponsors an annual student paper prize competition. The award is granted for the best student paper on any facet of anthropology that concerns issues related to US Latinas, Latinos and their communities.
Eligibility is open to individuals who are students at the time of their submission; papers should be no more than 5000 words (20 double-spaced pages) in length. All papers will be reviewed by a committee composed of ALLA members.
The author of the student paper judged of the highest quality will receive a cash award in the amount of $200.00. The winner will be announced in the Anthropology Newsletter with the prize awarded at the American Anthropological Association annual meeting.
Authors should provide 5 copies of their submission postmarked no later than September 20th of each year during which the prize is offered - hard copy only, please; no faxes. Queries are welcome anytime. Contact the Awards Committee Chair noted below.
