Receiving So/An credit for off-campus course, independent study, or internship
Click here to print out the form to petition to receive credit for a So/An course taken abroad or an off-campus independent study or internship. Only ONE course abroad may count towards the major. In addition, ONE independent study or off-campus internship supervised by a So/An department faculty may also count toward the major.
Submit it, after you have attended the course, along with the course syllabus or independent study/internship summary, to the So/An department chairperson for consideration.
Note: You don’t need to complete the form to receive credit for the Sociology course taken on Global, Term in the Middle East, or Term in Asia.
