Barbara Olson received her MA in Spanish Literature at New York University in Madrid. Her undergraduate work was completed at the College of St. Benedict where she received degrees in Spanish and Education. Barbara has had extensive college teaching experience at Saint Louis University in Madrid, and the University of Minnesota besides working at St. Olaf for 10 years. Barbara also has taught English as a Second Language on several levels in Spain and Costa Rica. She spent three years in the Peace Corps in San José, Costa Rica, where she developed language programs and worked in social services in local factories. Her special interests include directing annual student and adult study tours to Guatemala and traveling frequently to Spain.
