Departmental Distinction Award


Theater faculty and staff choose the recipient or recipients of this award.
Criteria and qualities used in the evaluation of a student’s work for Distinction will include the following:

A. Ability to participate in individual or group activities in theater at a  
    superior level of performance and skill.
        
B. Commitment to utilize the skills of theater in service oriented activities
    to the campus community, schools, churches, political organizations, etc.

C. Ability to work independently.

D. Understanding the nature of language, facility and a sense of
    responsibility in its effective oral use to promote constructive
    human interaction.

E. Demonstration of creativity in the activities related to the central goals
    of A-D, above.

F. A cumulative grade point average of 3.5 in the department (with
   exceptions to be made at the discretion of the department) is necessary in
   order to be considered for this award.
