About the Symposium

The Honors Day Science Symposium at St. Olaf College celebrates the contributions of the natural sciences and mathematics to the college and to society. Founded in 1999, with funding provided by the Paul & Mildred Hardy Distinguished Professorship in the Sciences, the symposium seeks to: highlight undergraduate research in biology, biomedical studies, biomolecular science, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, psychology and statistics; explore a topic in contemporary research; enable interaction with invited guests working at the forefront of their fields. The 2006 symposium has received additional funding from the Keck Foundation.
