The Chairs

Anna Lehn is from Rosemount, Minnesota. She majors in English (yes, just English). During the last four years she has played flute in the St. Olaf Band and danced as much as possible. Over the fall and winter of her junior year, Anna studied abroad primarily in Turkey, Egypt, India, Hong Kong, and South Korea as part of St. Olaf's Global Semester and co-founded the Global Awareness Honor House upon her return. Last summer Anna interned with The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, assisting with the youth creative writing program. She plans to pursue a career in arts management, but first hopes to spend a year eating baguettes and sipping tea in small cafes while teaching English in France.

Hal Halvorson is from Spokane, Washington. He is majoring in Biology and Chemistry. At St. Olaf, he has been involved in the cross country and track teams for two years, the St. Olaf College Democrats, the Honor Council, and has worked for the Admissions Office as well as the Office of Residence Life as a Junior Counselor. This past January he studied abroad in the Bahamas as part of an interim course on island biology; this was a part of his ongoing research project investigating pearl oyster sex determination. Next year, Hal hopes to attend graduate school to study the interfaces of insect nutritional physiology and ecology.
