Oles helping Oles

Class Fund Agents

Class Fund Agents connect with classmates while generating enthusiasm for St. Olaf and the St. Olaf Fund. Currently, more than 500 Class Fund Agents from the Class of 1941 to the Class of 2011 work with the annual fund office throughout the year to encourage their classmates to make annual unrestricted gifts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attend the Volunteer Summit on the Hill, Homecoming Weekend, September 24, 2011.
  • Make an early financial commitment to St. Olaf in any amount.
  • Help recruit additional volunteers.
  • Assist in writing and editing the fall and spring solicitation letters.
  • Contact 15-20 classmates via phone, email, or mail to encourage participation in The St. Olaf Fund.
  • Maintain regular communication with the annual fund staff by reporting solicitation results and passing along biographical information that may be of interest to the college such as changes in address, employment, or marital status, etc.
  • Thank assigned prospects for their time, regardless if a gift was given or not.

Reunion Committees

Every 5 years, you and your classmates celebrate your time on the Hill. By volunteering, you can help plan a reunion where old friendships are renewed, new friends are made, alumni come together to support current St. Olaf students.

As a committee member, you can...

  • Attend the Volunteer Summit on the Hill, Homecoming Weekend, September 24, 2011.
  • Plan class-specific reunion events amidst the college-hosted events already planned.
  • Create publicity materials including class-specific letters, reunion questionnaires, and save-the-date cards.
  • Make an early, meaningful financial commitment to the St. Olaf Fund in honor of your reunion.
  • Set reunion gift dollar and participation goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Contact 15-20 classmates via phone, email, or mail to encourage participation in The St. Olaf Fund and in the reunion festivities.
  • Send thank you notes to classmates who give (stationary and postage provided).
  • Attend the reunion June 1-3, 2012, where your only job is to catch up with classmates and have fun!
