The results are in. You rocked your senior campaign gift!
543 members of the Class of 2008 pledged a total of $13,757 to Partners in Annual Giving.
This is nearly $4,000 over the goal that the committee set. It is the largest senior campaign amount in 4 years and is the largest gift from all classes up to 10 years out. Pledges ranged from $0.50 to $300 – every gift matters!
The winners of the Dean Kneser-built St. Olaf College Adirondack chairs are…

Congratulations!
Thank you for your pledges and for being an awesome class!
2008 Senior Campaign Leap-off
We began our campaign with the 2008 Senior Campaign Leap-off in the Pause on Leap Day, February 29, 2008.
Disaster struck at 4:00 when Dominos called to report their oven broke down. That didn't stop the committee from throwing a great party. Within minutes pizzas were ordered from every pizza place in Northfield. In addition to a plethora of pizza everyone who attended enjoyed jazz and an appearance by President David R. Anderson. Everyone who pledged to Partners in Annual Giving got their t-shirt on the spot.
Presidential Challenge
David R. Anderson and Priscilla Paton have challenged the senior class to encourage participation and will add $1,000 to the campaign each time the class reaches a benchmark participation goal.

Look at our shirts
They're back from Larson's Printing. They're American Apparel and are organically dyed, as some would describe, a "mint-kelly" green with brown print. Check out the design by Peter Becker Nelson '04.

What is the Senior Class Campaign?
The Senior Campaign is a student-driven program that educates seniors about Partners in Annual Giving, the St. Olaf annual fund and the importance of giving back to their soon-to-be alma-mater. It asks all seniors to pledge a gift to Partners in Annual Giving to be paid June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009.
What is the Leap-off event?
It's a seniors-only kick-off event for the Senior Campaign with President Anderson. It's in the Pause on February 29 (leap day) and there will be free pizza. If you make a pledge to Partners in Annual Giving, you'll get a cool t-shirt. You might even have a little good, clean fun. Check out pictures from last year's Kick-Off event.
Why the free t-shirt and pizza? Doesn't the cost off-set my pledge?
In the short-term, yes. However, the t-shirts are used to create a buzz surrounding the campaign. They’re a great way to generate publicity and awareness. Not only will seniors recognize the t-shirts, but first year, sophomore and junior classes will ask questions and begin to understand what the senior campaign is all about. It’s our hope that years from now when you’re rich and famous you will still wear your shirt and will remember the importance of philanthropy and the importance of Partners in Annual Giving.
What are the goals?
Maggie and Peter, the campaign chairs have set the bar high - 85% participation and $10,000. Every 8 pledges will raise the percentage roughly 1 point. Last year the class of 2007 achieved a 83% class participation rate, equaling the record set by the 2005 Senior Campaign.
What is the history of the campaign?
The Senior Class Campaign program started in 1987 and has grown significantly in over the years.
Your participation IS important
Gifts to Partners in Annual Giving are used to support the annual operating expenses of the college - financial aid, faculty salaries, books, computers and lab equipment etc.
The percentage of alumni who donate annually can be indicative of alumni satisfaction. Every gift increases our percentage, and helps to show readers of U.S. News and World Report that you loved your time on the Hill.
