Alumna gives $1 million to Great Conversation program
Karen Buchwald Wright '74 recently provided St. Olaf College with a $1 million gift to support the Great Conversation program, a sequence of courses that introduces students to the major epochs of Western tradition.

Giving others the gift of education
Dean Weber '60 was so thankful for the financial assistance he received as a student at St. Olaf that before he died this spring, he established an endowed scholarship and committed 90 percent of his estate to the college.

Another Gift from the Heart
Opening gifts with her family on Christmas morning in 2006, Irene Nygaard Arens '58 had quite a shock. Inside the card from her husband, Al, was a description of an endowed scholarship fund established in her name at St. Olaf College. "It just blew me away," recalls Irene.

Selling the farm
