Just a note to say we've arrived safely, and are settling into the
"guest house" on campus.  I'm impressed with how the students are now
experienced at moving in, finding water and snacks in local shops and
getting on the internet or buying phone cards.  We have orientation
tomorrow, a three hour hike up the local mountain (much lower altitude
than Lijiang!) on Saturday, and classes and activities almost straight
through the next two and a half months.  It will be educational and a
great deal of fun.

In the meantime, I've posted an entry to my blog
( http://terminasia07.blogspot.com/ ) about Lijiang and Dali in China.  I
have good internet access here so maybe I'll even be able to put up some
pictures soon.
