These women were neighbors of the orphanage, Casa Hogar, that I spent the month volunteering at. We were handing out some donations to the kids from an organization in the U.S. and included some of the neighborhood kids.
They went home and told their families, who came when they heard we were handing out free items. These women also heard and came the next day with their children asking if they too could have some sandals and clothing that we were handing out. They sat waiting for almost an hour while the owners of the orphanage were in a meeting with their staff. This image captures the colors and faces of the Mexican people.
