"Glossy Consumption " A Mall in Hong Kong Upon our arrival in Hong Kong, we were told that "this place is more 1st world than America!" Gigantic, polished, busy, glossy malls. Everywhere. With their spotless shiny surfaces, bright lights, and blinding reflections, the malls entranced you and seduced you to consumption. |
