After their husbands were killed by the army in Guatemala's 36 year civil war, widows outside Chichicastenango banded together to form a weaving cooperative under the wings of their Methodist Church. This activity provides them with a community, a livelihood, and a path to healing. These belts are but a few of their handicrafts.
