Purpose: Assist minority students to study off-campus on CIEE programs
Eligibility: U.S. citizen or permanent resident, self-identified as belonging to an under-represented group and participating in a CIEE Study Center program
Awards based on: Financial need, scholarship essays and recommendations
Award amount: $500 (applied to program fee)
Procedure: Submit with application and copy of financial aid information
Application deadline: April 1, 2008 (for Semester I/Yr.); November 1, 2008 (for Semester II)
Notification date: 4 weeks after application deadline

CENTER FOR GLOBAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR HISTORICALLY DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS

Award based on: Applicants' ability to articulate their desire to enroll in the program and how s/he will share the experience upon return to the US ; financial need; priority given to US citizens/permanent residents
Award amount: $500-$3000

Award commitment: Assist the Center for Global Education upon return to the US by sharing of the experience on home campus and community

Purpose: Enable students of Pan African descent to understand the effect of racism/apartheid and resistance in the US & South Africa

Award based on: Demonstrated financial need (Pell Grant) and show interest in themes of the program and willingness to share the experience upon return to the US; must be US citizen or permanent resident of Pan African descent
Award amount: Tuition, room and board not covered by Pell Grant
