EBSCO updated 21 July 2009

Note: Ebsco has tagged its records inconsistently. This makes them very difficult to import. If there are empty or incomplete fields in your worksheet after the import (particularly the year), check in the notes field. The information may be there and can be moved up with a cut and paste. Otherwise, you should look in the the downloaded file for the missing data.

In Firefox:

  • Select desired references by clicking on the "add to folder" icon below each reference.
  • The far right column on the page has a yellow bar with the text "folder has items." Below it, click on the folder view link.
  • Select all the references you wish to export.
  • Click the export icon (on the right, above your reference list).
  • Click on generic bibliographic management softwareDirect export to EndNote DOES NOT work
  • Click "save."
  • Under "file," select save page as.
  • *** Give the file a new name, and change the file extension to .txt.  Under the save as type option, select text files.*** You must do both.
  • Note: HTML full text WILL NOT come over. [For full text the best strategy is to download the pdf files to your computer and put your own link in the EN workform to them.]

In Endnote:

  • Click on the import icon in Endnote.
  • Select file chosen above.
  • Choose other filters under import options.
  • Select the appropriate filter .
  • Click import.
